REVIEW: "ME" by Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift recently released the first single, “ME!,” from her 7th upcoming studio album. This track features Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco, making “ME!” Swift’s first lead single to be a collaboration. Urie has said in multiple live-streams that he would love to collaborate with Taylor and it looks like they finally made it happen! Seeming to be an upcoming summer hit, “ME!” incorporates positive lyrics to dance-worthy beats, making it a song that you want to scream with the windows down on a summer day. A butterfly mural, supposedly filled with hints about Swift’s upcoming album, was painted in Nashville to help promote “ME!.” Swift continues with the clues about her upcoming album in the music video for “ME!” with many references such as a snake turning into butterflies as the video begins. This references the previous era, Reputation, changing into the new era of her upcoming album. Swift has said that “ME!” is a song about embracing your individuality and being proud of who you are. This can be seen in lyrics such as “I’m the only one of me, baby that’s the fun of me” as well as “you’re the only one of you, baby that’s the fun of you." Seeming to be rapidly climbing up the charts, it looks like Swift has another hit on her hands.
